DGA140 - Sound Project (Week 1)
We have been tasked with doing the foley and dialogue for an animated short, of which there are 2 we can pick from, and I picked the first one which is an advert for vodafone showing the story of a mayfly who's life expectancy is only one day, and how they live it to the fullest they can.
The video features a mayfly coming out of water in a jungle, and continues flying around and meeting another mayfly and playing tennis with web balls etc. so I need to think of ways to make these sounds using objects that I can record in the foley studio to edit over it. I will also need jungle ATMOS to give the video its atmosphere and background for depth.
Here's a list I've made while watching the video of what sounds I need and some ideas to go with them:

- MF flying up above the canopies - quieter/echoey ATMOS
- MF diving back to the ground again - slight noise of body hitting through the air and creating windy noises
- Monkeys
- mf swooping left and right
- sliding down leaf
- Small river/stream
- mf lands on leaf floating down river
- plucking leaf from branch
- hitting web ball with leaf
- web ball hits leaf and bounces off, hitting cob web
- juggling web balls
- two mayflies flying/dancing through air
- plucks flower
- sunshine shot - deep atmos and layered but kinda quiet?
- MFs dancing around together inside large echoey cave
- swarm of mayflies dancing together
- MFs on romantic branch - cicadias and moonlight, quieter at night
- wings fluttering as one mf moves closer to the other
- tails moving/brushing together
