Introduction

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Molly Fuller and I created this blog to share my journey in learning all about animation at Falmouth University. To see my portfolio, please visit this website:  https://molly-fuller.wixsite.com/portfolio If you would like to see blog posts on specific work, for example 2D animation, you can use the labels tab on the left side of this blog to find different types of work. Below is personal work that I've done outside of uni: Here is an animation I made in July 2017 using photoshop's timeline feature - it was my first attempt at animating:  Dandelion animation   Shera and the Princesses of Power fanart: Shera and the Princesses of Power fanart: 'Voltron: Legendary Defenders' fanart: Doodles:

Bubble animation tests for 3rd year film 'Case Closed'

Image
I was asked by the director of Case Closed to test out some animation for bubbles, similar to bubbles in lava lamps, and the finished animations my director liked were these below, one where I layered two different tries of the animation together, which my director liked a lot. I also made the second one to try seeing what the bubbles would do once already pushed apart, moving much slower.

Concept art made for film pitch - 3rd Year

Image
At the beginning of this term I helped to create the work for a film pitch, Vetere, which unfortunately didn't get greenlit to be made this year, but I had a great time working for Sara and Beth even though it was a rush to get everything made in only a week and I felt it really helped me to practice my concept art and background skills. I started by researching the story and idea, and did these two studies of deserts: I then drew up the second one digitally and tried to make it look more like a concept art piece, however I found this challenging as the film was pitched as 3D, so I had to think about making it fit this style rather than a 2D animation style. I then made this background and put two of the main characters into it, however at this point the character models were very rough so they weren't the finished designs. Below it you can see the process of drawing it using the 3d model by Sara. I also made this concept art as a 'wow' image ...

Here is the finished animation I started a while back of a tile smashing:

Colorist Work on 3rd Year Film

Image
At the end of my first year at uni I had the opportunity to work on a 3rd year film, Papa Poule (@PapaPouleFilm on twitter) and was one of their colorists. Here is a video showing the shots I coloured: The director and the rest of the crew were really welcoming and friendly and it was a joy to help on their film.

Small fun 2D animation!

Image
I did this small animation last night and today and added a sound to it.  I get inspired by lights on things like extension leads and trains and imagine fireflies and spirits coming into the world from them, and I thought last night "I should really just make something from it already!" so I did! Hope you like it.

2D Smoke Animation

Image
Today in class we were taught how to create smoke animation by animating 'blobs' and have them moving up, and then draw over them to create the smoke plume. Hope you like it!

Memories of Jubilee Pool - Sound Design

Image
This is the short film I helped on last term called Memories of Jubilee Pool. I did all the sound design on it except for the voiceover. Hope you like it.
