Character Walk Cycle - Heather

Image
Here is my finished walk cycle of Heather. I definitely think there's still a lot I can improve on, but I've been working on this on and off for about 6 months since the last term and had to redo the whole thing multiple times in separate parts like body, legs, arms etc. as I found it very difficult but also fun. I'm really happy with it even though it's not perfect, and I look forward to trying again many more times and improving with each go at it. Thank you, hope you like it.

Here is my designing and researching process so far for my character design project:  Rough story outline for a short film:  Facial emotion poses: Design and shapes of Heather: My starting rough doodles of cartoonyish bears that I did before everything else: Study of brown bear to help develop the design and make it more informed by real bears: Old alternative clothes design: More information about her and her environment: Another brown bear study to inform Heather's profile shape and design: Unfinished action poses, two different versions as I'm still working out how she looks from the side. More doodles of Heather from after the first design: Pigeon character design: Old alternative backstory: Old alternative face design: Some doodles in lessons to practice shapes and posing: The bottom middle and middle right drawings are of Heather's shapes, as I was practicing drawing her from a ...

More Drawings and an Animation

Here are a few more drawings I did before the start of term at uni! Here is a drawing I did of a cat using a reference image: I did two different versions of this drawing to show the same person, but depicting what she looks like on the outside, and then also how she feels on the inside. The first is titled 'Outer Calm' and the second 'Inner Turmoil': I also animated 'Inner Turmoil' to make her blink and seem lifelike, which you can watch here: Here is a fanart I made depicting one of the korok characters from the game Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild: And finally, a drawing I did based on a reference image:
